I just finished brewing (put to bed?) a porter, a clone of Anchor Porter from Beer Captured, a very useful recipe book. The gravity (density) was 1.074; a bit above the target of 1.069, but respectably close. It looks dark and already has a bit of the chocolaty/roasted flavor profile.

One of these months I have to brew sufficiently faster than we drink so that I can get two kegs going at once....

A batch of beer is about 40 pints. Two people in the house, averaging a pint a day each, will go through it in three weeks...

(This is only the second batch I've made since moving in September, though)

gee, I usually have the opposite problem; I don't drink it as fast as I brew it. Unfortunately this has resulted in slowing down my brewing speed, to the point where I brewed a batch in August and have yet to bottle it! (hope it's still good).
